Buckinghamshire Restaurant of The Year 2008 Milton Keynes Fine Dining restaurant of the Year 2008 2 AA Rosettes for Culinary Excellence 2008-9 The Plough Wavendon is a 48 cover, award-winning Fine Dining restaurant situated in the small parish village of Wavendon, South East of Milton Keynes, and within walking distance of the internationally renowned The Stables music and entertainment venue.
With close proximity to Central Milton Keynes (10 minutes drive) it is also an easy journey, from Woburn Golf club. The Plough offers ample parking facilities along with an 8-seater Mercedes Benz courtesy transport for those guests who wish to be collected at their office or home (subject to conditions). On the site of the former 16th century Coaching Inn and old Bake House, the Plough has been transformed into an elegant restaurant with bar facilities with an award-winning landscaped garden courtyard for al fresco dining – one of The Guardian’s top 5 Al Fresco tables in the UK. The menus have been compiled with a view to celebrating local British produce, seasonality and with a Modern French influence: Where possible we have endeavoured to source as much quality, seasonal produce, using the best local suppliers from the Milton Keynes; greater Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Oxfordshire areas. Our dishes are prepared daily in-house. Our wine list has been compiled by our Sommelier and focuses both on New World and the traditional wine growing regions of Europe. Many of the wines are available by the glass: Smaller estates, Biodynamic and organic wines are a feature. The restaurant has disabled access and facilities and has been awarded a ‘5 star – Excellent ‘ Food hygiene rating.
We welcome children, but respectfully request that they are under adult supervision whilst dining at the restaurant. We further ask that our guests observe a smart casual dress code. We have a private outside area capable of hosting a marquee for weddings; any private celebrations; office parties or Christmas functions.
